Assistant Police Chief, Parks and Recreation
Nick Latiolais is a veteran law enforcement professional who now serves as Assistant Police Chief of Parks and Recreation. He oversees security at all the Youngsville Parks. He previously served as the Youngsville Police Department’s Assistant Chief of Police for the past 7 years. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing all divisions within the Youngsville Police Department. Nick has 28 years of experience in law enforcement in the following fields: Corrections, Patrol, Patrol K-9, Patrol Street team (S.T.A.R), Metro Narcotics (Agent), DEA Task Force (Agent), Criminal Investigations, Supervised Metro Narcotics. Nick was also selected to the Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. team as an operator, then worked up to a team leader. After several years, Nick was then selected to be the S.W.A.T Assistant Commander. During Nick’s 28 years of law enforcement, he attended numerous trainings and several instructor certifications courses. Nick has vast law enforcement knowledge and experience which make him an asset to Youngsville Parks and Recreation Police.
A native of Breaux Bridge, Nick has been a resident of Youngsville for the past 31 years and his in-laws are lifelong residents of Youngsville. Nick still believes that a handshake and a man’s word, mean something. Nick is proud to serve the citizens of Youngsville where there are strong family values. Nick believes training, experience, and positive public presence is the key to crime prevention and solving crimes.
Nick is devoted to maintaining the Youngsville Parks a safe and family friendly environment for all who visit. Nick is truly honored to be selected to serve as Youngsville Parks and Recreation Police Security Director to one of the premier Parks and Recreation facilities in the country.
