The City of Youngsville has purchased 23.84 acres of property on S. Larrieviere Road to construct the LaSalle regional drainage pond. When completed this project will lower the base flood elevation 1 foot for the LaSalle drainage area. A huge thank you to Pamela Granger of McBade Engineers & Consultants LLC and her team for recommending, modeling, and designing this project and to our City Council for supporting the 2015 Youngsville Master Plan which included this project. Design plans are currently 70% complete and construction is anticipated to be underway by the beginning of hurricane season 2021. Currently 75% of the total cost is funded by the state and federal government and remains the only local project receiving reimbursable HMGP dollars from the 2016 flood event.
