I’m thrilled to announce a new public/private partnerships to improve drainage in the Anslem drainage area. Louis Anzalone Companies has donated 2.67 acres of property on E Milton Avenue to the City of Youngsville. Thanks to Mr. Anzalone’s generosity the City of Youngsville will construct a detention pond capable of storing approximately 15 acre feet / 5 million gallons of water to alleviate pressure off of the Anslem Coulee during high intensity rain events. In addition to drainage mitigation this property’s layout is being designed with a beautification component which will provide a visual improvement to motorists on E Milton Avenue and a passive recreation area to Youngsville residents. Through public/private partnerships and federal grants numerous drainage improvement solutions are under various stages of development and design. Youngsville has previously announced the acceptance of $10 Million in federal grants for multiple regional storm water ponds on the Lasalle and Bayou Parc Perdu Coulees totaling
nearly 80 acres in Youngsville.
Thank you again Mr. Anzalone!
