Beautiful day to check out the progress of two of Youngsville’s new regional ponds. Pictured is the “St Blaise/Anslem lateral” pond and also the “Lily Pond” on parish lateral L1C near Sugar Ridge/Chemet Park. The St Blaise Pond will make an amazing dog park when complete!
Great news for downtown Youngsville and Youngsville residents! We were just awarded a $100k grant to construct a 8’ wide fitness trail connecting Foster Park to the Youngsville Sports Complex behind GT Lindon along Railroad St. Thanks to Clint Simoneaux our City Engineer who oversees planning and development for writing and securing the grant! I am also appreciative for LPSS and Youngs Industries for working with us on the necessary easements. Construction is estimated in 2022.
Touring our city’s recently acquired detention/retention sites with our Sports Complex leadership team. Exciting times ahead as we plan the future of Youngsville Parks & Rec while improving drainage!
Work at “Lily Pond” regional drainage site near Sugar Ridge & Chemet Park has begun! This, 4.61 acres, is part of the 100+ acres that has been obtained by the city over the past 18 months to improve drainage using regional detention as a solution.
